Since a young age, Manuka honed her creative gifts and love of Mother Earth. As a visionary born into a lineage of wise woman, matriarchs, farmers, and herbalist, she is carrying the torch left by her ancestors. Through her love of plants and plant medicine at, she began her journey to become a herbalist at the young age of 22. Being highly influenced by a book she discovered “Sacred Woman” written by Queen Afua she took to the craft of womb medicine. The book Sacred Woman is rooted in Afrocentric Spirituality and is known for changing the way Africans in America approach their overall holistic health. Queen Afua is a nationally renowned herbalist, natural health expert, and is dedicated to the healing of the womb of women; mind, body, and soul. She focuses on the importance of womb health and womb-an-ness. Teaching to discover the womb as the center of our consciousness and creativity. This book led Manuka to her own independent studies in womb wellness in 2010 and what we see today at Lotus Eats Life.
